Winter Rose by lovelauraland Winter Rose by lovelauraland
Winter Rose was made for Izrabeth as a birthday present from Lilacamy :)
she is a bit late in being made as Izrabeth's birthday was over a month ago but I hope she was worth the wait x
she is of course another kimono pony :D
she is as her name goes a winter pony :)
I have sculpted her dress from apoxie and painted it in shades of blue and silver.
she was re-rooted in white and blue nylon hair and her mane was placed up into a bun with crystal snowflakes dotted around and pink roses, which I love, love, love!!!
Her eyes have been painted in shades of blue and varnished.
I have added snowflakes across her dress and body some plastic ones that used to be buttons and some crystal ones.
she has wisps of sculpted wind around her eyes and horn.
I hope you all like her as much as me :)

Very lovely! I'm really enjoying seeing your kimono ponies. ^__^

So tell me, which comes first - the kimono or the wings? *head tilt*

the kimono comes first with the holes ready made for the wings :D

*nods* Makes sence. (Though I hate thinking what would happen if the pony fell during the wings-making process. X( ) Thank you - I was wondering that! :)

I make the wings off the pony and then attach them once dry :D

*blink-blink* :ohmygod: You cheating little~! XD

Now why didn't I think of doing something like that? I assume you add the feathers around the base of the wing after attatching them, but what do you use to hold them while working on them and all the feathers are drying? :O_o:

I leave the feathers at the end of each wing blank- the part near the wire and then once the wings are dry I pop them into the holes on the pony, I then add apoxie around the hole and wing and smooth down and lean the wings againts something to dry, after they are dry I add super glue and add the rest of the feathers and cover over the dry clay.

By "end" I assume you mean the end closest to the pony body.

That's such an awesome method. I may have to steels it. ;)
